Environmental Psychology

Environmental psychology conducts research, teaching and collaborations focused on the interaction between people and the environment from the perspective of the individual.

The subject deals with how people experience their surroundings and are affected by them, as well as how humans affect the environment through their behaviour.

The research encompasses the relationship to both the physical and social environment with a basis in the needs of various groups, including children and the elderly.

Environmental psychology takes a holistic view of the environment, and the individual is studied in relation to interiors, urban spaces, landscapes and global environmental conditions. Research results have practical significance for the understanding of the individual’s role in reaching many of the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
